I never read such a strong indictment against a politician, short of Saddam.

Harry Reid, William Jefferson and many yet to be named Democrats will also have a rap sheet like that.

It is true that Republicans are supposed to be the party of less corruption. However, D.C. is rife with it, because too much of our money finds its way to our nation's capitol (or should I say capital?!)

21% of GDP right now is collected in taxes, the Boston Tea Party, by contrast, was staged because of the Stamp Act. Britain proposed to collect a duty equivalent to 1 tenth of 1 cent!

In a mere 14 years the CBO projects that Medicare and Social Security expense alone will be 21% of the budget.

I will say it again, if there weren't so much money going to Washington, so many of us wouldn't follow it there trying to get some of it back career politicians and lobbyists alike.

Transparency measures, reporting mechanisms, rules against lobbyist sponsored trips or dinners can be circumvented, if there is enough money to be spread around.

Half the size of government and less will be there for those so inclined to feed at the government trough (our pockets).
